God’s will for your life can often require loyalty, faithfulness, and obedience. An honorable woman that fits those character traits is Ruth, who is featured in Will of God – The Movie. She was a Moabitess that was married, but after a process of time she became a widow, and even after the death of her husband she chose to follow her mother in law for the rest of her life.
“And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her. And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law. And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Where thou diest, will I die, and will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.” (Ruth 1:14-17 KJV).
Ruth was steadfastly minded to stay with Naomi, because whether she knew it or not at the time that was God’s will for her to follow her mother-in-law. Within that divine journey, God rewarded Ruth with gainful employment and an honorable husband named Boaz.
Furthermore, the will of God for Ruth was to not only be in the lineage of Christ by marrying Boaz, but to also be saved by not going back to Moab and following those false gods. Ruth therefore worshipped the true and living God because of her loyalty, faithfulness, and obedience to Naomi and eventually Boaz.
